Oiled leather.
Oiled leather is much more supple and durable and does not dry out as quickly. The leather is soaked in vegetable oil during the tanning process. This opens the pores of the leather and the oil penetrates deep under several layers. This creates a slightly memorized effect, which is particularly noticeable on brown leather. It is important that oiled leather is greased regularly.
Caution: Due to the unique nature of leather, oil residues can transfer to other surfaces. Avoid prolonged and direct contact with light-colored fabrics, permeable surfaces and other leather that could inadvertently absorb the oil.
